Nick's frantic flight home to heavily pregnant wife Mariah

Nick Cannon has sparked fresh speculation that his wife Mariah Carey could be about to give birth. The TV host tweeted a message around two hours ago saying that he was on a flight back to New York and that he was "praying" their unborn twins waited for daddy before they "pop out". Nick was pictured at Los Angeles LAX Airport yesterday making his way back to the Big Apple.

Nick tweeted: "On a plane back to NY. Praying dem babies wait for daddy to come back before they pop out. The cornball movement don't stop." It comes just days after Mariah had a false alarm when she was rushed to hospital with contractions. Carey, 41, and Cannon, 30, who wed in 2008 after a whirlwind six week romance, are expecting twins next month.

They have already revealed they are set to have a boy and a girl. Mariah was rushed to hospital in the early hours of the morning on Sunday - her birthday - with contractions. The pregnant singer tweeted about how she almost gave birth to her twins on her birthday. She was later sent back home after the false alarm.

Taking to twitter, the singer posted on Sunday: "So the babies really wanted to celebrate with us and share the anniversary! I started having contractions last night and went to the hospital. Finally they said I could come home after they got it under control but they almost came on 3/27. Happy anniversary in deed. We have a few more weeks to go. Wow."

The twins are due to be born in the spring of this year. Mariah has spoken about how she conceived the babies naturally and also opened up about how she miscarried when she first became pregnant, shortly after marrying Canon in April 2008. A spokesman for the singer could not be reached for comment.
