I'm a celebrity skivvy... get me out of here

UK newspaper Daily Mail has conducted a series of interviews with people who have worked for celebrities, detailing their good/bad experiences with the stars. The feature includes an interview with a seamstress, who describes her positive experience working for Mariah.

Egita Tomina, 29, is a seamstress for Oksana Mukha, a bespoke couture dress designer, and lives in London with her husband and their two-year-old daughter. She says: Late last year I took a call from Mariah Carey's PA to ask if I would make a corset for the singer. "Am I dreaming?" I wondered. I've worked with Destiny's Child singer Kelly Rowland, but Mariah is a real megastar.

As I drove to meet Mariah at her London hotel suite, I worried that she would be the diva she's portrayed to be? She might not even speak to a humble seamstress like me. She had a huge entourage with her - she had staff to tend to her every whim - but Mariah herself was really sweet, and very pretty in the flesh.

She smiled constantly and did a press interview while I was measuring her, so as not to keep the journalist waiting. She was a size 12 at the time, and she asked me to make her a black corset covered with black and white Swarovski stones.

When I met her again a few weeks ago for her first fitting, not only had Mariah remembered my name, but I was astonished to find she'd shrunk to a size 10 and her eyes were sparkling. She had been on a health kick and was working hard to get in shape.

Mariah kept saying how sorry she was that I would have to remake the corset because of her weight loss. We chatted a little more this time - she asked me where I'm from and how long I've been a seamstress. I can honestly say that she's been an absolute pleasure to work with and I haven't seen a single diva trait in the time I've spent with her.
