Beyonce, Slim Thug battle their way to No. 1

Beyoncé's "Check on It" featuring Slim Thug rises one rung to claim the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 this week. The cut ends the two-week run of Nelly's "Grillz" featuring Paul Wall and Ali & Gipp, which falls to No. 2. The Beyoncé track is also the Hot 100's greatest airplay gainer, and remains atop the Pop 100 and the Hot Digital Songs charts.

Chris Brown's "Run It!" holds at No. 3 on the Hot 100, while Mary J. Blige's "Be Without You" ascends 10-4, just as its parent album, "The Breakthrough", drops to No. 2 on The Billboard 200. "Be Without You" also leads the R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart for a fifth straight week.

On the Hot 100, the Pussycat Dolls "Stickwitu" and Juelz Santana's "There It Go! (The Whistle Song)" remain at No. 6 and No. 7, respectively. Mariah Carey's "Don't Forget About Us" descends 4-7, while James Blunt's "You're Beautiful" climbs 15-8. As reported yesterday, the Atlantic album from which it is drawn, "Back to Bedlam", reaches a new high this week with a 13-9 boost.

Rounding out the top tier, the All-American Rejects' "Dirty Little Secret" stays at No. 9, while D4L's "Laffy Taffy" falls 7-10. Natasha Bedingfield's "Unwritten" is the Hot 100's greatest sales gainer and zooms 28-14.

The chart's top debut belongs to Yellowcard's "Lights and Sounds" at No. 76. Also new are Keyshia Cole's "Love" (No. 82); Zac Efron and Vanessa Anne Hudgens' "Breaking Free" (No. 86); Bubba Sparxxx' "Ms. New Booty" featuring Ying Yang Twins and Mr. ColliPark (No. 87); the Pussycat Dolls' "Beep" featuring will.i.am (No. 93); Matisyahu's "King Without a Crown" (No. 98) Zac Efron's "Get'cha Head in the Game" (No. 100).

The Black Eyed Peas' "My Humps" remains No. 1 on the Hot Ringtones chart for a 10th week and Daddy Yankee's "Rompe" sits atop the Hot Latin Songs chart for a ninth straight frame.

On the Hot Country Songs chart, Carrie Underwood's "Jesus Take the Wheel" holds on at No. 1 and Lifehouse's "You and Me" maintains the No. 1 spot on the Adult Contemporary chart, each for a third week. Weezer's "Perfect Situation" notches a second week at No. 1 on the Modern Rock chart, while Shinedown's "Save Me" leads the Mainstream Rock tally for an 11th straight week.
