Party popper-diva Mariah throws party from hell
Mariah scary Carey's friends were flattered when she invited them to her 35th birthday party at a top London nightclub. But that was until they actually got there. For on arrival at Soho's celebrity haunt Tantra, her 650 nearest and dearest were thrown a rule book to obey. Maz's pals, of which a possible 99% she'd never met in her life, were gobsmacked when she told them at the front door how they wouldn't be allowed to smoke in any area of the club because the Without You singer feared it would ruin her voice.
The American star also warned that no one was to get within an arm's length of her without permission. One guest revealed: "It was simply ridiculous, she had invited all of these people to have a good time and she wouldn't even go anywhere near hem. Mariah spent most of the time ticked away in a corner and barely spoke outside of her tiny group while surrounded by her minders."
And they'd been given strict instructions to confiscate and destroy any cameras, including snaps taken on mobile phones. We watched as at least five clubbers had theirs removed shortly after Maz arrived - two hours later than promised. However, the most painful moment of the night was when she was presented with her birthday cake. Demanding the music was turned down while she blew out her candles, guests looked shocked when it was brought out, because it was an almost life sized version of herself.
Since she arrived in England a week ago, she seems to have been a pain. But she topped the lot when she banned people from her record company from attending Saturday night's bash because they refused to pay for her over the top birthday cake. Instead a friend ended up footing the bill. (Daily Star)
