Mariah album delayed

Mariah Carey's new album has been pushed back three weeks. "The Emancipation of Mimi" was originally set to be released on March 21. The album features guest appearances from Kanye West, the Neptunes, Snoop Dogg, Twista and Nelly and was co-produced by Jermaine Dupri.

The first single to be released from the album, "It's Like That", entered the Billboard Hot 100 at 53 last week, Carey's highest new entry in almost five years. A video will be filmed for the single next week, directed by Brett Ratner.

Carey is also reported to be house-hunting in London ahead of taking the lead in a musical version of "The Prince and the Showgirl" in the West End. A source told The Mirror: "Mariah's pretty much confirmed as the lead in the musical - she'll be starring as Elsie Marina, the role Marilyn Monroe made famous on film. As she's likely to be here for several months, she's looking to buy a place in Belgravia. It has to have at least six bedrooms and it's fair to say that money is no object."

"The Emancipation of Mimi" will now be released on April 11.
