Fans in South Africa help push The Remixes

Three Mariah Carey/The Remixes CD give-away promotions were held on Saturday, November 8 at Monsoon Lagoon in Caesars Gauteng, Friday, November 14 at Nova in Bez Valley and on Saturday, November 15 at Saints in Rivonia. These events were organised by Viva Divas Entertainment, a new company formed by Rick Blignaut and Ramon Thomas.

The first event at Monsoon Lagoon saw around 350 people descend on one of the most glamorous venues in Gauteng. DJ Dino, a resident DJ, started by playing the Fantasy remix to signal the "opening" of the club. At about 00h30 Rick got onto the stage and started interacting with the crowd. Several questions were posed and many people were climbing over each other to get close enough to win a copy of the Remixes. Rick even got a few people on stage during the 2nd instalment to sing the chorus of any of Mariah's biggest hits. Vinay Pillay, a fan from Centurion, walked away with a #1's DVD after singing the Heartbreaker chorus.

On Friday, November 14 a much smaller crowd of around 150 was entertained at Nova in Ellis Park, a beautiful venue with Stone Age décor. DJ Shane entertained the crowd with several spins of the David Morales inspired club mixes. Saints in Rivonia saw a crowd of well over 500 people. There was a huge SMS campaign to attract as many people as possible to this event. Well known DJ AK, created a very exciting atmosphere with constant reminders of the Mariah Carey CD give-away.

These events have allowed us to reach around a 1,000 people. The prize winners walked away with a night to remember. A little cursory note inside the CDs awaits the winners congratulating them on winning The Remixes.
