Mariah introduces new act at New Star Showcase
Last night, Mariah Carey was on hand at Seventeen Magazine's New Star Showcase presented by Entertainment Tonight. The event was held at the Roseland Ballroom to benefit The Fresh Air Fund. Mariah, alongside rapper and close friend Da Brat, introduced Isabel, a new artist from her own record label, MonarC, a part of the Island/Def Jam imprint. Although no release date for a single or album has been set for Isabel, initial reviews were good.
Mariah's own album, Charmbracelet, which includes her current single "Through The Rain", is in stores December 3. Other celebrity guests included Kelly Rowland, P.Diddy, B2K, Shaggy, Rikrok, Daniel Bedingfield, Dream, Julia Stiles, Young Ne Ne, The Deuce Project, Jay McGraw, Ellen Abramowitz, and Maria Menounos, who served as host for the evening.
