Mariah Carey, James Packer visit Israel
Mariah Carey sure moves on fast. The music icon is barely divorced from her second husband Nick Cannon, but is already contemplating marrying an Australian billionaire she has been dating for a few months. Carey and boyfriend James Packer, 47, recently traveled to Israel for a "pre-engagement spiritual meeting", according to TMZ.
It was reported that Packer is close to his Israeli spiritual leader and requested the couple schedule a meeting before taking the next step towards marriage. "They will be married soon," a source told Hollywood Life, revealing that if the meeting goes as planned and they receive the adviser's blessing it's definitely a go. James is apparently very connected to his spiritual adviser, and he felt it necessary to take the trip and ensure the leader's blessing.
The couple arrived in Israel on Saturday, and will be touring Jerusalem, Tel Aviv and the Dead Sea. Packer is the fourth richest person in Australia, at an estimated worth of $35 billion. Despite packer's business partner telling a Jewish audience in Los Angeles in April that Packer had purchased a house next door to the home of Benjamin Netanyahu and had become an Israeli citizen, Packer denied the claims and said it has however sparked his business interests.
"The trip has strongly reinforced my view of the investment opportunities and incredible tech ecosystem in Israel," he told The Australian newspaper from Tel Aviv earlier this month, while visiting the country with a delegation of Australian business people. The couple is expected to dine with the prime minister and his wife Sarah at the PM's official residence in Jerusalem. (JP Updates)
