Mariah Carey to arrive in Taiwan Saturday for concert

Pop sensation Mariah Carey will arrive in Taiwan early Saturday with her 3-year-old twins on a personal jet for her Taipei concert the next day. The American diva will land at Taoyuan International Airport and stay at the presidential suite of the upscale Regent Taipei on Sunday night, according to local promoter Festival Boys International Co.

She will not attend any public events other than her concert at the Taipei World Trade Center Nangang Exhibition Hall on October 26, the promoter said. The pop diva, who has not performed in Taiwan since 1998, is expected to sing her top hits including "Hero" and "Always Be My Baby", as well as songs from her latest album "Me. I Am Mariah ... The Elusive Chanteuse".

"Hello Taipei," she said in a Facebook video uploaded mid-month. "I can't wait to see you on my tour, the Elusive Chanteuse Show." The tour kicked off in Japan October 4, followed by performances in South Korea, China and Malaysia. Upcoming shows are set for Singapore, Taiwan, the Philippines, Thailand, Australia and New Zealand.

Around 80 percent of tickets for the Taipei concert - over 13,000 - have been sold, Festival Boys said. Carey released "Me. I Am Mariah... The Elusive Chanteuse", her 14th album, in May.
