Fans made it through the rain for Mariah Carey

American singing sensation Mariah Carey expressed her gratitude to her Malaysian fans for braving the rain last night at her concert in Stadium Merdeka. "Thank you Malaysia for sitting through the thunder, lightning and fire with me! You were amazing," she tweeted via her official Twitter account @MariahCarey.

The rain which began pouring late in the afternoon had carried on well into the concert, with fans posting photos of queueing up outside the stadium covered in plastic raincoats. With much speculation on what the sexy diva would wear for her concert after being issued guidelines to dress appropriately, Carey appeared aptly covered in a black jacket, a long shocking pink grecian dress and a black and white dress from local designer Farah Khan.

Carey's concert, part of her The Elusive Chanteuse Show saw the diva taking the stage in Malaysia after ten years. The last time she was here was in 2004 which was part of her Charmbracelet Tour. Prior to her concert last night, Carey was spotted in KL on a shopping excursion at the Star Hill Gallery.

She had also posted pictures of her twin boys, Moroccan and Monroe making pizza at a restaurant in the Ritz Carlton Hotel. Apart from that, Carey had also obliged her fans while shopping for photos and autographs. "Ran into some lambily members while shopping in Malaysia. See you at the show tomorrow," posted Carey, who refers to her fans as "lambily", a combination of the words "lamb" and "family" on her Twitter account.

Meanwhile, her fans took to Twitter to express their joy at having attended the concert. Twitter user The Andrew Story wrote, "Thanks for the wonderful show in KL last night. We luv you always, forever and ever." Ismail Tanjong wrote, "To Mariah Carey, a beautiful night in KL. Hopefully meet you again in next concert."
