Mariah Carey shows off her post pregnancy weight loss

She is known to be a lover of animals with an army of dogs and cats at home. And now it seems that Mariah Carey's beloved pets are helping her in her bid to shed all of her baby weight. The 41-year-old Glitter star tweeted a picture of herself in a bright blue tracksuit as she went jogging with five of her tiny Jack Russells, on Saturday night. She captioned the playful picture "Jogging puppystyle!".

In the snap, a beaming Mariah proudly shows off the results of her rapid pregnancy weight loss, just months after giving birth to twins Monroe and Morocco, in April this year. The Heartbreaker vocalist has been working hard to get her body back in shape after the arrival of the twins.

And it appears to be paying off. Earlier this month, she also showed off her curves in a flattering black swimsuit. And once again she could not resist giving her fans a sneak peak of her new look, posting the snap on Twitter. She said: "Ocean work out! It's been a loooong time since I've been in the ocean."

The shot was even more amazing because less than a week before, the singer was revealing how difficult being pregnant had been, and the effect it had on her body. She said: "Everyone was always saying to me, 'Oh but it's all worth it.' And I was like, 'Yeah well it's easy for you to say when you're not the one whose feet are this big.' It turned into a really difficult time. Being pregnant with twins is different to anything. My body went through so much - you have to keep those twins in as long as possible, but it's a sacrifice you make for them. I was literally 47 weeks pregnant."

Mariah is certainly getting back into the spotlight after keeping a low profile since the birth of her two children with her 30-year-old husband Nick Cannon. She is set to do a fan-dream collaboration with easy listening legend Tony Bennett. Mariah is teaming up with the crooner to do a version of When Do The Bells Ring For Me on his Duets II album.

And according to the latest reports, Mariah Carey is understood to be in "final negotiations" with U.S. X Factor producers to appear as a mentor on the show. The superstar singer has long been rumoured to be involved in the series and last month Simon Cowell confirmed that they were in talks with Carey but were yet to settle on a role for her.

Now, it looks as though she will act as a mentor for contestants during the judges' houses stage of auditions. The celebrity guest mentors will help to "whip the contestants into shape", Deadline reports, for the final round of auditions where the judges will make their finalist selections.
