Mariah Carey has champagne delivered to bathroom
Motherhood hasn't stopped Mariah Carey from retaining her reputation as a diva - and she proved it over the weekend when she made her first public appearance since giving birth to twins in April. The 41-year old singer enjoyed a night away from the family on Saturday when stepped out at popular New York nightspot Juliet Supperclub with two girlfriends - and promptly ordered an assistant to bring champagne to the bathroom.
"Mariah came into the crowded club with a small entourage and was surrounded by people taking photographs," a source told the New York Post. "She was smiling, friendly with everyone and seemed relaxed. It seems motherhood is suiting her."
But while Mariah has mellowed following the birth of twins Moroccan and Monroe on April 30th, she still showed off some of the characteristics that have marked her out as one of the most demanding singers in the business. "Her diva ways are definitely still there," said the source. "It was very hot, and she had a young man fanning her throughout the night with big red fan."
"She spent a lot of the night dancing, and was nice to anyone who approached her. But the club was very crowded, and she asked if she could have 'a minute' of quiet time in the bathroom. The ladies' was cleared out, and Mariah ordered a $450 bottle of Perrier Jouet, and had a few glasses in the privacy of the bathroom before coming back out to join the masses."
The singer - who requested extra security during her time in the club - was enjoying a night out without husband Nick Cannon, but a spokesperson later confirmed she was accompanied by various other family members. "She was out celebrating with friends and family members," said the rep. "She's been working out and has been taking care of her babies and is just so happy." (Starlounge)
